The hamlet, which once lit up the Nivernais countryside with its ironworks fires, now comes alive as a peaceful retreat nestled between fields and forests, where silence is broken only by the sounds of nature.
At Domaine des Forges de la Vache, life follows the rhythm of the seasons: wandering through the garden’s blooming paths, relaxing by the pool, beside a cozy fireplace, or enjoying the gentle warmth of the spa under the stars. Each season offers its own unique atmosphere and simple pleasures.
Breakfast
We offer two breakfast options.
Either delivered directly to your accommodation, consisting of bread and pastries, butter, homemade jams, hazelnut spread, milk, chocolate, tea, and coffee.
Or served as a buffet in the shared dining room, where it is more extensive and also includes cereals, yogurt, honey, eggs, and cheese.
We proudly feature organic or sustainably farmed products—often local, and sometimes even harvested from our own garden. Some jams are made with fruits from the Domaine, and the eggs come from our free-range hens

All our houses are equipped with fully fitted kitchens, perfect for preparing your meals independently.
In good weather, our barbecues are available for grilling in the garden. For groups, and subject to availability, we can also organize wood-fired oven pizza meals.
We also provide a list of nearby restaurants offering a varied and appealing selection.
For private events, it is also possible to arrange for a chef or caterer to come onsite.

Open from May to September, it offers a beautiful view of the countryside. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy time with family, read a book, or admire a stunning sunset.

The Scandinavian Bath
Equipped with massage jets, it’s just as enjoyable in summer as in winter, by day or even at night — perfect for gazing at the starry sky.
